Tingathe is growing its mission!
Tingathe has embarked on a process of refining its brand to ensure both internal and external stakeholders understand Tingathe's identity, including the vision and mission. Over the year we held events across the organization to spread the message and celebrate 10 years of Tingathe!
Program updates
  • Tingathe had supported the Ministry of Health to transition 100% of eligible adult and children on ART to Dolutegravir-based treatment. This support included client education, ART stock management for sustained supply chain, mentorship, and training of providers among other activities.
  • Following the revision of national guidelines on clinical management of HIV in adults and children in year 2022, Tingathe supported MOH to conduct trainings for ART providers in supported districts. A total of 537 health care workers were trained, including MOH clinicians, nurses, medical assistant, community midwifery assistants, and data clerks.
  • Malawi experienced several public health emergencies in FY23, notably Cyclone Freddy and Cholera outbreak. Tingathe supported MOH to prevent and mitigate the outbreak  and cyclone-related health care service disruptions in the hardest hit areas in implementation districts. Read more about it  here
  • COVID-19: Tingathe provided mental health support to frontline workers and staff to reduce the impact of COVID-19 and ensure continued delivery of quality HIV services to all populations. Furthermore, the program increased vaccine uptake amongst PLHIV and its staff by providing accurate vaccine education to reduce hesitancy of uptake.
  • Over the years, Tingathe's cervical cancer prevention program has expanded to over 40 sites. By September 2023, over 35,000 women living with HIV had been screened for cervical cancer, with over 95% of those requiring treatment receiving it on the same-day while the rest were referred for further management.
